Magic Bullet #6 Announcement

Here's some news I haven't shared publicly on this blog. I am now the editor of Magic Bullet, starting with the upcoming Magic Bullet #6. Magic Bullet is Washington, DC’s free comics newspaper published by the DC Conspiracy, a comics creators’ collective in the capital region established in 2005. The publication is primarily distributed in the DC area, but with many of our contributing artists attending various shows across the country, Magic Bullet has a growing readership, as well as a growing print run of 5,000. 

I will be bringing Magic Bullet #6 to all shows I'll be attending in 2013, so be sure to pick up your free physical copy. We are also working on a downloadable issue, available for a small fee online. The Magic Bullet #6 newspaper will be hitting streets this spring. We are also arranging our contributors to appear at several locations during Free Comic Book Day on May 4. Stay 'tooned for more info about the downloadable issues and FCBD events.

For the past few months, I've been working hard to attract advertisers to pay for the upgraded print run of 5,000 and am excited to say we have achieved our goal. At the time of this writing, some of the advertisers include: Indie Comics Magazine, Jason E. Knights, college freshmen, comic book geeks, an undying engine of destruction, the world's most famous criminals, jazz singers, killer clowns and more will shock, uplift and entertain in Indie Comics Magazine #4, a special holiday issue, scheduled for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' October 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews, announced Publisher Gary Scott Beatty.

Starring in this issue are some indie comic heavyweights. Ignatz Award winner Rich Koslowski produced a holiday story with his fan-famous characters, The 3 Geeks. Gary Scott Beatty's jazz pianist tells is nephew a Christmas story. Students of the Unusual's Terry Cronin returns with a story of knights and magic.

Curls to be Published in Indie Comics Magazine #3

Hey everyone! My comic Curls will be featured in the upcoming issue of Indie Comics Magazine.

NEWS RELEASE: CAROLYN BELEFSKI PRESENTS CURLS IN THE NEW INDIE COMICS MAGAZINE #3

Indie Comics Magazine #3 breaks the gender barrier with its first female contributor, Carolyn Belefski, announced Editor Gary Scott Beatty. Belefski will contribute a story based on characters from her popular Curls webcomic in Indie Comics Magazine #3, scheduled for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' August 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews.

Belefski was nominated for Friends of Lulu's 2010 Kim Yale Award for Most Talented Newcomer. "We're excited to land one of the hardest working and most talented women in independent comics today," said Beatty.

Belefski displays a new Curls webcomic every Monday and Thursday and offends and/or entertains with her podcast, The Carolyn and Joe Show, each Tuesday. She collaborates with writer Joe Carabeo on the comic books Kid Roxy, Black Magic Tales and The Legettes.

Belefski's illustrations have been published in USA WEEKEND Magazine, The Commonwealth Times, Magic Bullet, The Pulse on Comicon.com and more.
