I'd Rather Die
Since I haven't posted in awhile, I figured... maybe I should. I've been working on the second issue of Kid Roxy. It's gonna rock when it's done. Here is a teaser sketch featuring Roxy and her friend, Debbie.

Our final shot lands on Roxanne and Debbie still looking up at the speakers in the cafeteria. Roxy actually looks possibly interested in going to the dance. Debbie not so much.

Photos: Crafts & Kisses 2008
Be sure to check out our photos from last Sunday's event, Crafts & Kisses. Most of the photos were taken during set-up, so they don't show how large the turnout was. It was a huge success, with over 500 visitors stopping in to check out the goods. Curls Studio had a great time there and did very well, especially with our line of greeting cards. We were the only vendors offering comics, so it was great to represent comics in the DC arts scene!

Crafts & Kisses 2008
Curls Studio's next event is Crafts & Kisses 2008! The Valentine theme inspired fair will take place on Sunday, February 3, from Noon to 5PM at the Josephine Butler Parks Center, a gorgeous old mansion right next to Malcolm X/Meridian Hill Park on 15th Street, NW. It's situated a few blocks from the Columbia Heights Metro and the U Street Metro. This fair will feature 30 to 40 vendors, entertainment, a kissing booth, edible treats, and drinks.
BUST magazine and Washington City Paper are helping to market the event, but you can help out too by telling all your friends or by posting promos for the event around town or online. You can obtain event promotion links here: postcard, 8.5x11 poster, 468x60 web banner, and 125x125 web badge.
